During the 2023 season, the BGU team excavated the Area CC, the residential rooms buried under the collapse layer, and the area surrounding close the recently discovered chapel. Here, a large, paved room decorated with wall paintings, an open pool and various water installations were found, forming together a large complex, most probably a pilgrims’ hospice.
